Intro

Telecommunications Engineering Programme at NED University of Engineering and Technology was started in February 2003. The Programme was formerly managed by Electrical Engineering Department. It remained under administration of Electronic Engineering Department from July, 2007 to June 2021. In June 2021 University decided to establish an independent Department of Telecommunications Engineering.

At Undergraduate Level, the Department offers Bachelors of Engineering in Telecommunications. At Postgraduate level, it offers Master of Engineering Degree in Telecommunications, Evening Programme under two specializations namely RF Engineering and Telecommunication Networks. The Department also offers Master of Science weekend Programme in Telecommunication systems. The faculty is actively involved in research activities currently there are 10+ students enrolled in PHD Programme under Supervision of Telecommunications Faculty.
Permanent affiliation followed in February 1927.

Mission of Department of Telecommunications Engineering:
To provide a quality learning environment by inculcating engineering knowledge, analytical skills, critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, research capabilities, and leadership for producing globally competitive professionals that contributes towards technological and socio-economic development through sustainable application of engineering principles with ethical considerations.
Mission of Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) Programme:
To prepare the students for employment and/or postgraduate studies by equipping them with the engineering knowledge, practical skills, critical thinking, professional communication, leadership, ethical values, environmental considerations, and ability to adapt to the fast-paced advancements in the field while contributing towards the progress and betterment of the society.
Mission of the Master of Engineering (Telecommunications Engineering) Programme:
To create technical and analytical expertise for the telecommunication industries and research organizations by imparting state-of-the-art knowledge and innovative skills regarding telecommunication developments and practices.
Mission of the Master of Science (Telecommunications Systems) Programme:
To create technical and analytical expertise for the local and international telecommunication related industries and research organizations by imparting state-of-the-art knowledge regarding telecommunication developments and practices.
Mission of Doctor of Philosophy (Telecommunications Engineering):
To create technical and analytical expertise for the research based telecommunication related industries and organizations by providing access to the cutting-edge research in the specialized areas of telecommunication engineering, for creating new knowledge leading towards better society.
